I don't have the time to commit to me, work is just too busy at the moment.

Commitment to yourself and taking ownership of your circumstances is the first step to the road to success. You must have a clear idea of what is really important to you so you can make better decisions about your priorities in the short term and therefore add greater to your success in the long term. Just working hard and being busy busy just does not give you the results you want. This is also true if you have your hands full at home, there is always room for improvement.

"I am too busy to commit to myself at the moment because work is busy" might actually translate as "I want hide behind being busy a bit of longer and sabotage my success."

Be honest and ask yourself...

Are you completing tasks that have no potential long term consequences? Do you question old ways of doing things at work and think how can this be done better?

Being busy is no longer a strength but can be in fact a weakness. I don't care what type of job you are in, there is always room for improvement and opportunity to CREATE MORE TIME. Yes you can create time in your day without adding to the 24 hour clock.

A lot of the time you are busy and overwhelmed because of beliefs and behaviours you never ever questioned.

Does this sound like you?

I hear repetition statements like this a lot "This is just the way it is", "We are too busy at work", "I don't have the time", "I am busy". Perhaps this has some truth but in my experience it was created from accepting the belief/situation and repeating it over and over. I always find an underlying issue and opportunity for improvement.

Honestly ask yourself: Is this how I want to spend my time? Is what I spent most my time doing actually getting me anywhere? Did you create this busyness because of underlying fears and insecurities?

It is not that you are busy, it goes deeper than that....

  • You are passive, you lack assertiveness and therefore you take on more than you can handle

  • You are a complete impostor and terrified you'll lose your job if you are not seen to be flat out

  • You are not organised and you lack efficiency, and you just spend time doing things that do not need to be done at all

  • If there was a reward system, you'd win the "People Pleaser Award" or the "Yes Award"

  • You just accept that this it, and you go along with it and you do not question if things can be done better

  • You are complete control freak, extremely competitive and you just don't trust others so you do it all yourself

  • You put everybody else first because you have a big heart that you use foolishly and end up losing yourself in the process

Did the above resonate?

I know how you might feel. I coach people all the time who are introverts, people pleasers, impostors, control freaks who do not have the results they want because of these soul destroying behaviours. I help them to overcome these barriers and change for the better creating greater results in their career and for their company. Amazingly, I help them create more time for passionate and productive activities including their personal and family life :) and most of my clients are mams and dads. So it is possible for you too.

Do not wait until you have the time, as the best time is now, most likely 6 months down the line, you'll be in the same situation. Where do you want to be in 6 months time? You can't create better results doing things the same old way.

The clearer you get about your future intentions, the greater the influence the clarity will have on what you do in the moment. With a clear long term vision, you are much more capable of evaluating an activity in the present and ensuring it is consistent with where you truly want to end up.

You can book a clarity call with me to talk abut your current barriers and obstacles and gain clarity on your vision or how you would like things to be. I will be happy to answer any questions about me and my services. Book a call here.
